With the commissioning of a 12 kWh photovoltaic system, the second phase of the assembly and installation of an energy backup system in the Ruta Invasora rice agroindustrial complex, in the Camagüey municipality of Vertientes, was completed. This entity has opted for the use of renewable energies for the electric power supply for part of its operating scheme. This is evidence of the necessary link between agriculture and clean energies.
Through solar energy, the company will be able to generate 45.25 MWh annually. During the same period, it will avoid the emission of 27.96 tons of carbon dioxide and the burning of 12.7 tons of hydrocarbons, thus making a significant contribution to reducing its carbon footprintas, well as a positive economic impact, with savings of more than 140 thousand pesos per year.
